Wednesday 10/23/2017 - In today class, we started by getting our robots together and continued competing with each other to find out what team going to win this competition for extra credit. - We had a little of problem at the beginning because we needed to finish assembling our robot from last class. We had problem with one of the motor, it did not work. That caused us reassembling some parts to replace the old motor. - Finally, we finished our robot with the help of our professor in running program for our robot. We had chance to enter the competition with other teams. It was so much fun, and helpful for our major. - We were behind other teams around 6-8 points because we could not join the competition in last class. So today was the chance for us to start catching up. - Our robot's name is TRANSCHILD that was the name professor Mason named our robot :D. - We were able to collect some first points in the first competition which was going around the field with fastest. ...

Wednesday 10/18/2017 - In today class, we learned about the Robot. Basically, we learned how to assemble, and run a robot. - First thing we did in class and it took us almost entire class to do was assembling the robot which detailed directions. - Our group were the only group that could not finish a completely robot in that day because of some obstacles. - While other groups were able to get the robot finished, and run smoothly, we were struggling with assembling it. It may be because of our first time doing thing like this. Other teams also had chance to compete with each other to get extra credit for our grade. - This activity was really awesome, it gave us a taste with different part of engineering. It was also super challenge. It required us to be patient, and paid attention to detail while assembling parts of the robot. - The other problems that caused us fell back behind other groups was missing some tools, parts of the robot. The other problem was coming from our team m...

On Wednesday 10/11/2017 - We had the midterm at the beginning of the class. It took about 2 hours. - After finished the Exam, we had a guest speaker who talked about how to have a good resume, also couple of questions we usually get asked during interview for a job. - We learned a lots during this time, it was really helpful for me personally. It gave me all the details I need for my resume, for example: what I should and should not put on my resume. - There were also some questions that we supposed to have some questions before going to interview. Also some questions are illegal to be asked in interview. Here are some pictures of the "workshop" that we got from our guest speaker. Thank you our Professor Mason for inviting the guest speaker. It was a really helpful tip for us preparing for our good resume.

In today class, we learned about Engineering Ethics and answers some questions First, looking at 13 True/False questions and answer with reason why it is True or False? Second, we checked a specific case and give answer and reason as well Next, answered and gave reason for another case of Engineering Ethics.  Third, we did some new formulas and graphs with Excel  Here are some of them: -We used average, standard deviation formulas, and today, now formulas as well in this exercise. -In this exercise, we used if function to determine whether the valve is open or closed. - With this exercise, we created a graph from data table, then created another graph and changed the axis of it, so we can get both graphs in the same chart. Next thing we did was creating a graph and added a trend line to it, also edited some text in the equation of trend line. We did RMS deviation and Square the RMS deviation. Lastly, this exercise wanted...

Progress report #1

Progress Report for Marker Holder   The first project of the Engineering 1 class was to design and fabricate a marker holder. I was given around 2 to 3 weeks to finish this project. The purpose of it was for students getting familiar with steps that an engineer would experience and be prepared for the future. The project is divided into very specific tasks from measuring object, drawing object in paper, drawing in Autodesk Fusion, and finally fabricate it at Maker Space of MtSAC. First, I started with using equipment for example caliper to measure radius of circles, length, height, and width of the marker holder. It required tolerance in each measurement in an acceptable range for our object. After finished collecting measurements, I used those to begin the second step of project which is drawing three different views: top, bottom, and side. This step took a little bit of time to familiar with learning how to look at object at different perspectives. Using Autodesk Fusion so...
