In today class, we continued talking about the flow diagram - In this example, we drew a flow diagram for 2 alternative A and B to see which one has the higher cost - This model above did not represent true the reality, so we calculated Present/Annual/Future cost/worth to see which will give us the better "investment" between A and B -These were basically what we learned in today class, then we moved on the study guide for final exam, bridge rules.

In today class, we went over the engineering economics. -We draw a cash flow diagram. Then we calculate it based on the formula given : P: principal i: interest rate n: time in year - We next calculated the simple and compound interest then graphed it in the same graph. -Here are some exercises to practice calculating the amount that one needs to pay out montly - Also calculated the amount of principal from initial to come up with the future fund needed. Here is the other way around which is calculating the amount of future fund based on given principal and interest rate and time in year and also month. - Got one more practice using excel to calculate how much time it take to pay off credit debt when pay $50 and $100 a month. - Lastly, we testes our bridges and recorded the amount off Force that our bridges can handle before breaking. Also to see who builds the best bridge

In today class, we learned dimensions, units in U.S and other countries. -We started off by measuring the dimension of the wood block. - Then we list the unit of U.S and S.I There are some commons in unit of both U.S and S.I  such as second, mol,... - Then we learned about understanding the meaning of formula based on unit  -After that, we calculated the volume of the soda can and estimate our difference with true value. -  - Next thing we done was looking at the picture of a sumo and a model, then gave the prediction on who will cause much more damage when step on our foot.  - Last thing we did in class was using spaghetti to build a bridge which can handle amount of mass 100g-1000g. -Our group was successfully with handling 500g of mass on the bridge, but we were not able to handle 1000g.

In today class (Wednesday 11/01/2017) - We started by learning new code and set up for more challenges in today lass. - We did autonomous code so our robot can go entire circle without using the control - We had a little bit problem with coding because the computer stopped working accidentally. Luckily, with the help of Professor Mason and the member of Robotic team we could make it to the next round of competition. - Next challenge was to go around the field using control, and grab a cone. After that, we had to press a button to activate autonomous mode for the robot running to the designated position and drop the cone. - We did not do well at the beginning, but the last challenge where each team we combined all the code learned from the beginning of the class and download to the robot. We won in the last competition and became one of the winning teams. -This was so much fun building and learning things about robot. It definitely helped us understand more about this inte...

Wednesday 10/23/2017 - In today class, we started by getting our robots together and continued competing with each other to find out what team going to win this competition for extra credit. - We had a little of problem at the beginning because we needed to finish assembling our robot from last class. We had problem with one of the motor, it did not work. That caused us reassembling some parts to replace the old motor. - Finally, we finished our robot with the help of our professor in running program for our robot. We had chance to enter the competition with other teams. It was so much fun, and helpful for our major. - We were behind other teams around 6-8 points because we could not join the competition in last class. So today was the chance for us to start catching up. - Our robot's name is TRANSCHILD that was the name professor Mason named our robot :D. - We were able to collect some first points in the first competition which was going around the field with fastest. ...

Wednesday 10/18/2017 - In today class, we learned about the Robot. Basically, we learned how to assemble, and run a robot. - First thing we did in class and it took us almost entire class to do was assembling the robot which detailed directions. - Our group were the only group that could not finish a completely robot in that day because of some obstacles. - While other groups were able to get the robot finished, and run smoothly, we were struggling with assembling it. It may be because of our first time doing thing like this. Other teams also had chance to compete with each other to get extra credit for our grade. - This activity was really awesome, it gave us a taste with different part of engineering. It was also super challenge. It required us to be patient, and paid attention to detail while assembling parts of the robot. - The other problems that caused us fell back behind other groups was missing some tools, parts of the robot. The other problem was coming from our team m...
